With the help of social media, an engineering student of Sitamarhi district, Bihar got resolution to his problem of pending scholarship. The student sent a message to the Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav on Facebook regarding his pending scholarship and Tejashwi did something shocking and praiseworthy, the amount of the student was credited with the remaining balance in a matter of few hours.
As per IANS, Tejashwi (26) who is an active user of social media got informed by the engineering student on his Facebook account that since last three years he was not able to get the post-metric scholarship despite of many attempts.
An officer from the office of Deputy Chief Minister told IANS, “Tejashwi immediately directed the officials concerned to look into the complaint and ensure the youth received his scholarship money. A day after Tejashwi’s directions, the youth got his pending scholarship in his bank account and thanked the deputy chief minister for his help.”
Tejashwi said that he has been receiving same type of many complaints and he is looking into them personally as he doesn’t want anybody’s education affected due to money, as he said, “Lack of money should not hinder education of the poor students.”
Earlier also students have received help through social media as on November 9, when father of a disabled kid tweeted to HRD minister, Smriti Irani enquiring about the engineering and medical courses for his daughter. On the very same day, Smriti helped him after taking his personal details. And not only this, Smriti helped the girl in accomplishing her desire of meeting Ruskin Bond and Kailash Satyarthi during an event organised by HRD known as “Kala Utsav”.
