Poop Falls From The Plane, Hurts A 60-Year Woman

A 60 year old lady from Sagar district, MP, got her shoulder injured after a lump of ice of football size, fell on her from sky on December 17. This was termed as an unusual space activity which took place in Aamkhoh village until the Aviation scientists gave a look at the matter. The scientists feel that it may be a ball of frozen poop and urine which may have fallen from a commercial plane’s toilet unintentionally.
As per experts, this is for the first time in India when a person has got injured because of falling ice from a flying plane. The victim Rajrani Gaur survived because the ice lump first hit the edge of terrace, then fell on her. Deepka Jain, an eyewitness told TOI, “I was only 25 feet away from the spot where the monster came crashing down. Children and villagers witnessed the fall and then heard screams. We ran towards Rajrani’s house and referred her to hospital. The ice ball hit the roof first. Otherwise, it would have smashed her skull.”
It can either be “blue ice” or a megacryometeor; blue ice is the frozen sewage which got leaked mid-flight from the lavatory waste system of aircraft, while megacryometeor is a huge piece of ice formed due to rare atmospheric conditions. However, it is rare for such a chunk to fall on ground.
Experts say that if it was blue ice, the victim should get compensation under the Aircraft (Investigation of Accidents and Incidents) Rules, 2012. The district administration is not in mood to investigate the matter but an aviation consultant from Delhi, Bimal Kumar Srivastava, took it seriously and reported the incident to director general of civil aviation and the director general of the India Meteorological Department. He came to knew about it after reading it in a Hindi newspaper.
